Zoe's Thanksgiving program, and Sean on the go

‘Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn’t sleep.
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned, the dark meat and white.
But I fought the temptation with all of my might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation,
The thought of a snack became infatuation.
I raced to the kitchen, I flung open the door,
I gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore
I gobbled up turkey, buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, and beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
‘Til all of a sudden I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky,
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.
But I managed to yell as I soared past the trees:
“Happy eating to all!  Hey!  Pass the cranberries, please!”

May your stuffing be tasty, may your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes and gravy not have a single lump
May your yams be delicious (“mmmwah”!), may your pies take the prize,
and may your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs!
Happy Thanksgiving!

The pilgrims took a trip
Across the big blue sea.
Riding on the Mayflower,
America they did see.
The winter was so cold.
The springtime warmed them up.
They listened as Squanto told
How to plant corn, fish, and hunt.
And when the crops were gathered,
A Thanksgiving party did begin.
With Pilgrims and Indians
Giving thanks for all brought in.

I’m glad I’m not a turkey
a turkey, a turkey
I’m glad I’m not a turkey
On Thanksgiving Day
They’ll STUFF you and BASTE you
And then they will TASTE you
I’m glad I’m not a turkey
On Thanksgiving Day.

Someone had his first bath last night... and someone else rode her bike home from school today.
